Down To Earth-Singita

“No amount of action will ever compensate for energy you haven’t lined up with yet.”
I’ve been resonating on this attraction/intention quote. The travel demand is still at a small fraction of pre-pandemic levels and I have fallen into the abyss of knob turning and churning.
Bahamas closed their borders this week,  Europe remains at a red light, and a cruise partner gave word they will stay anchored until mid December. Who says travel isn’t a thrill ride?
As events continue to unfold around the world concerning this virus, those of us in the industry  are at a crux in this pause; ACT or don’t just do something, sit there. What if you could do both?
Charismatic Conservationist and Founder of Singita,Luke Bailes has created this perfect combination for travelers.
Singita which means place of miracles is the leading luxury safari and lodge experience in Africa! Furthermore, the company is heading the charge in conservation, community and sustainability in the region and making a major difference through Tourism.

Not only is the company dedicated to restoring and sustaining the biodiversity of the land, they are tackling child hunger. The Malilangwe Trust’s Nutrition Program gives the kids an amazing platform to jump from. Every school day, 20,000 students receive a nourishing cup of mahewu – a porridge-based drink around the reserve in Zimbabwe.

I had the honor of breaking bread with these amazing and grateful children.

What does this have to do with you, the traveler? Travelers want to be far more connected to the earth in its original state and to an authentic, real experience these days. ( A drum I keep beating in my posts) Travelers are also more aware of the real threat to the environment and the animals so they want the rare experience off the grid and back to nature.

There are 15 unique Singita lodges, tented camps, and a private Villa Collection to choose from. All are situated across five different ecosystems in Africa from Zimbabwe, Tanzania, South Africa, and Rwanda. Every aspect of the experiences are private and exclusive, from bush walks, game drives, far to table dinners overlooking grasslands, and decadent wellness treatments. Guests have the place to themselves.   Each lodge exudes a subtle sophistication but blends into the landscape. Ultra Luxury Visitors pay a premium for this unspoiled and luxe experience. In turn this high value experience has a much LOWER impact on the area.

How you can you help? Awareness is first, calling me at How Far Adventures for more information second and then simply by taking that bucket trip safari adventure you have been dreaming of and staying in one of Singita’s lodges, you are part of the $12 million dollars a year donated to conservation. By sitting there enjoying the view, you are “doing more”.  These thrilling and life changing experiences are a passion for me and partnering with a non-profit company dedicated to giving back is double the rewards. How’s that for good energy?

What does luxury travel have to do with eco tourism and sustainability? It makes it financially viable and LONG lasting.  Visitors become donors and lifetime lovers of the region that return again and again.
