When life hands you lemons, you zest them and make limoncello. One of my favorite travel memories were the lemon vineyards in Cinque Terre, Italy. The fragrant, sunny fruit made the 1000 steps to the scent of the lemon less sour and the strenuous adventure sweeter.
Monterosso and metaphors aside, creatively imagined and meticulously arranged European itineraries have become practical impossibilities with travel bans, quarantine orders, and flight cancellations.
